Surnames: Riffe, Riffee, Taylor, Adkins
I am researching my G-grandfather's surname of RIFFE(E) and have found it spelled various ways. The knowledge that I have is firstborn Thomas Abner RIFFE born 1871 Nodaway Co, MO, married November 18, 1902 Magdelena SCHWEITZER (or SCHWEIZER) in Maryville, Nodaway Co, MO, died Dayton, Montgomery Co, OH. Thomas Abner was born to Jacob (L?) RIFFE born abt 1842 Ray Co, MO died Abt. 1880 Braddyville, Page Co, IO married Mahala Jane BURCH in 1871 in Nodaway Co, MO. Jacob was born to Thomas RIFFE marriage record spelled RIFFEE) who was born Abt. 1807 KY and married 1/September 03, 1831 Ray Co, MO Elizabeth Jane TAYLOR born Abt. 1814 KY, possibly 2/October 2, 1866 Eliza Jane (possibly the same). Jacob's brother Christopher lived in Nodaway Co, MO till his death, married Roseann(a) (DELONG) DAVIS MCGIN(I)TY, they had a daughter name Eliza or Elizabeth Jane (RIFFE) and she married into the CASON family. The RIFFE group migrated between Ray Co and Carroll Co, MO before Nodaway Co, MO. Thomas RIFFEE was born to John RIFFE(E) born VA and Mary (?ADKINS). This info is by means of family knowledge and Library Genealogical Records. Anyone with information please e-mail me at, I am desperately attempting to continue my research and I am at a stalemate.
