I came across your query below:
Seeking data and descendants of one Henry RIDER, and his wife, Rebecca HENDRICKS RIDER. They were md. in Jackson County in 1835, but were in VanBuren [now Cass] by 1840 and were there in 1850 and 1860. Their children were: Mary E., born 1836;; Eleanor, 1839; John, 1841; Serena, 1843; George
G. in 1845; Jacob in 1847, and James in 1852. Eleanor md. James MILLS in Cass County in 1860. Henry must have died between 1850 and 1860 since he wasn't listed in the 1860 with the family. They moved on to Henry County before 1870. Please E-Mail JRider@...........
You had a follow-up posting in response to another message:
John W. Rider could be a son of Alfred D. Rider of early Cass County, MO. Some of his cousins were in the Joplin area of Missouri.
It's John W. Rider (b. 9-15-1891), son of Alfred (b. Apr 1855) is where I start going back in the Rider line. He was married to the sister (Minerva Catherine Davis b. abt 1890) of my G Grandmother Effie Davis (b. abt 1885), both children of Charles Z. Davis (b.1849) and Mahala Ledbetter.
There are multi-generational ties between the Rider, Davis, Boren, Blevin, and other associated families prevalent in my family history. While working through the players in some research shared with me by cousin Judy Milum (I can forward if you're interested), I found that Alfred's mother is Rebecca unknown. Some trees had shown her as Rebecca Hendricks per the 1835 marriage record. This didn't fit with the family being down in Georgia, and I was happy to see your note accounting for the couple in the marriage
record and ruling that Rebecca out as Alfred's mother.
Would you happen to know anything more on the identify of Alfred's mother?
Thanks in advance for any help you can provide.
