I am researching my ggrandmother Anna Lenor (Walker's) Richter's parents- Elmer and Martha Walker. As far as I can tell ELmer Patrick Walker was born 1836 in either Gallipolis Ohio(death cert) or Iowa/Indiana(census). It looks like according to 1850 Chariton Missouri census Elmer's parents were John Walker b 1798 in Virginia and Mildred Walker b1805 in Kentucky. I am stuck at this point. I am told there is Cherokee on Anna's side and cannot find any indications of this so far on Walker side. Now Martha Walker's maiden name was Caswell. Her father was Alfred Selfridge Caswell b NE? 1820-1905. Can trace his side pretty far back so not really interested in researching him anymore. But his first wife (Martha's mother) Nancy Beller was born in Virginia in 1821 and died in Missouri in 1854. Her father could be John Beller b 1800 and lived in CLinton Missouri in 1850census. No mother listed for Nancy. Alfred and Nancy Caswell also had at least one more child named Uel who I have seen posts regarding him moving to Oklahoma and that he was part Cherokee. If anyone has any info on the Walker's/Caswell's/Beller's and if there is any Cherokee please let me know!
