Shirley,
My OCR reader is on the blink since I set everything back up. I will try to get it going over the weekend and send you the whole bio.
The bio is on Joseph C. Goodwin. He was born near Richmond, VA, Henrico County, March 27, 1824. His parents were Capt. William Goodwin and Mary Wells. His grandfather was Joseph Goodwin, who commanded a company of Virginians in the Revolutionary War.
Joseph C. was in school until 16 and the next 5 years learn the cabinetmaker trade. He move thru many state settling in KY. He married Mrs Rosana, relict of John Young, and daughter of William Rickets. They came to MO in 1853 and settled in Liberty. In 1856 he established a furniture store which also carried dry goods and groceries. His business was robbed during the war and he moved back to Lexington, KY. He moved to IL, then Arkansas and in 1869, back to Liberty and resumed his furniture business. At the time of the bio, (about 1885) he had a business house and 3 residential houses. Mrs. Goodwin died in 1866, leaving one daughter, Rosama, who married Thomas Gasney.
