Searching for any information particularly Baptist Church records which might list births etc. on the MCWATERS family. My ancestor, Joseph Salmon MCWATERS was born in Clinton County 16 JUL 1858. He was the youngest of nine children of Mary Jane (SALMON) and Hugh MCWATERS. Hugh and his eldest son were murdered and their home burned and Mary Jane and
the children were banished sometime after 1860. They were southern sympathizers. They lived near BEE Creek? and are on the Cedar Co. census in 1860. Mary Jane died soon after and the children were orphaned. Interested in any information or corresponding with descendants. hdilt@swbell.net
