I have a bible that reads in the cover sheets: Presented to Irene Marie Sauerhage April 5, 1925 by her grandfather Adam A Raithel in memory of his wife Mrs. Marie Meier Raithel. (Then I can't understand a "note" that dates her baptism as June 12, 1911. On the opposite page Irene writes:
My confirmation (something) #337 (German). Although I was the first child confirmed in the English language at St. Paul's Lutheran Church...there is more, but I can't tell what else she said other than something about a beautiful new church and the date of April 5, 1925. The bible is written in German. What a treasure for a relative to have. I'm not a member of Ancestry, but you can email me at firstname.lastname@example.org
. Hope this little gem has found it's "forever" family. I've been holding onto it for over a decade, but never could find anyone with those names.
