I am searching for additional information on the descendants of James Rockwood and Martha Ann Bridgwater of Pilot Grove, Cooper Co., MO; and on Martha's ancestry in Chesterfield and Henrico Counties, VA. James Rockwood, was born 4 February 1797, in Groton, Massachusetts, son of Deacon Samuel Rockwood and Lucy Hubbard . James removed to Richmond, VA, where he was engaged in manufacturing with his brother, Curtis Rockwood. James married on Thursday, 28 February 1822, in adjacent Chesterfield County to Martha Ann Bridgwater. Martha was born about 1804 in Virginia, possibly a daughter of Thomas and Mary A. Bridgwater of Chesterfield County. The Rev. Henry Bridgwater of Chesterfield, performed the wedding ceremony. James and Martha resided in Rockbridge Co., Virginia before moving to Botetourt Co., Virginia, by 1840. A few years later, James settled in Cooper Co., Missouri, where he engaged in farming. Martha died 24 September 1850 and James on 9 April 1881. They and most of their children are buried in the Rockwood Family Cemetery in Pilot Grove township, Cooper Co., Missouri.

James and Martha Ann had the following known children:

7. Charles Curtis Rockwood, b. 10 Sept. 1845, Virginia; d. 18 July 1929; m. Laura Ann Barnhart
