I am looking for information about the Wood family that moved to Cooper co. from Eastern TN. about 1817-1822. The patriarch is Joseph Wood. The sons are Levi Wood, Jeriah Wood and probably Alexander, Jesse and Andrew Wood. There is also a known daughter, Elizabeth. Her married name is Smith, but no information on the first name of her husband.
Jeriah Wood married Ann Miller in Cooper Co. 1824 and had known children: Polly Ann, Louisa, John and James. Jeriah was in Cooke Co., TX. by 1860 with second wife Catherine McDuffin. Levi married Mariah Campbell and had the following known children: Jeriah, Washington, Sarah and Elizabeth. Levi died 1853 and is buried in the Wood cemetery in Cooper Co.. Andrew married Jane and had known children: Joseph, Jeriah, Russel, Andrew, Marilda and possibly Alamanza. Andrew died between 1830-40 in Cole Co., MO. Jesse married Hannah and had known children: Penelope, Elizabeth and Jeremiah. Jesse died in 1863 and is buried in the Wood cemetery. Alexander married Nancy North and had known children: Matilda, Sarah (Sallie), Elizabeth, Levi Marion, Andrew, William, Thomas and Alexander. Alexander Wood, Sr. married Sarah Berger Carey in 1853. I would appreciate hearing from anyone that has information regarding any member of this family.
