I was aware of the two different census records information. According to the 1900 Census, Henderson and his first wife were the parents of 15, although I could only find 14. Some have mistakenly attached his children by his first wife to his second wife on later census records.
Again, the question remains, who did George W. Snaden marry? Charity or Martha A.? Until more conclusive information can be found, all we can do is speculate. The death records seem to support the theory that his wife was Martha. There could have been an error made when the marriage license was issued. Martha Carlock, at the age of 27 in 1880, makes a more likely candidate to be the Martha who died at the age of 40 in 1890. Otherwise, Charity would have been only 24 in 1890 since she appears to have been born in 1866. Also, it's more likely that Martha Carlock could have been a nurse to Harry Carlock when he was younger rather than Charity who was only four years older. The mystery continues.
