I am seeking information on my GGgrandfather, Charles D. Blake (b. Alcace, France, ca. 1828) and his family. Charles and his wife Sophia (Hunt) Blake moved from Mason County, ILL to DeKalb County, MO shortly after the 1880 Census. Sophia died in 1884 and is buried in Oak Grove Cemetery, Union Star, DeKalb Co, MO. On 27 Sep 1885, also in Union Star, Charles married Nannie Willis. From here the trail for Charles and Nannie grows cold. I do know that Charles' daughter Dora married Jerry Sullivan in Kansas City in 1882 and that his son, Oscar S. Blake married Mary Lawler in Green County, in 1891. I have been able to trace these two siblings and their families and also Charles's oldest son Jasper who stayed in Illinois. However, I have found no trace of Charles D. Blake and Nannie Willis after their marriage in 1885. I am very interested in learning anything about their later history.
