I have posted messages before regarding this line but have since gathered new information. My ggg-grandfathe was Rev. Humphrey Posey Freeman whom I had tracked to Douglas Co. Missouri in 1860. I had suspected he was somehow related to Aaron Posey Freeman and Alabeth Ball, but could not find the proof. I now have that proof.
I have a document (MCR 7113) filed with the Bureau of Indian Affairs that lists the following descendancy:
Aaron Freeman + Alabeth Ball
--Green Freeman + Nancy?
--Humphrey Posey Freeman + Eliza Rees
It has been assumed that Moses Green Freeman is the same person, but I have to wonder about that. A letter filed with the application for Choctaw status (which was denied) indicates Green H. Freeman. This makes me question the assumption about the name. It could be Moses Green, Moses Green Hill -- I just don't know at this point.
There is a Moses Freeman in the 1880 census for Texas Co. Missouri that fits the 1807 birth date -- could this be Green Freeman? I cannot trace Green Freeman and family after 1830 at which time he was in Buncombe Co. North Carolina.
I am looking for any information on Green Freeman -- speculation or possible leads are welcome.
