I don't have a death date for Martha. Of the three D's - death, divorce and desertion - death seems to be the most likely, given the customs of the times. Since Samuel married Luch Bibb 27 Dec 1893, Martha probably died 6 - 24 months before. I'd guess closer to 6 than 24, since he had two small children to look after. Many men didn't wait for the perfect someone back then, as long as they could find someone who was a reasonable cook.
