I am interested in the 2nd wife of Dr. Milton C. Burke. Lydia Emeline Honey was, I believe, the natural daughter of Elizabeth J. Honey of Maries Co., MO. Elizabeth Honey married in 1860 to Noah Giesler and the story in the Giesler family is that she was pregnant with another man's child at the time of her marriage. On the 1870 census of Maries Co., MO you will see the family of Noah and Elizabeth Giesler and oldest daughter is Lydia E. age 10.
Elizabeth died in 1871 and Noah Giesler remarried. I think Lydia then moved over to Laclede Co., MO with Honey grandparents. The Honey are found attending the Good Hope Baptist Church in Auglaize, Camden Co. (pub. Summer 1996 Ozarkin Vol XVIII, No. 2, pg 45-49) Coincidentally where Milton Burke lived and also counted in the membership list of this church. On the list of females to 1882 is found #51 Lida Emeline Honey Burke. Milton C. Burke is on the list of males. Glad to copy & send anyone who needs this list.
