Herman John Sieges, 90, Villa Ridge, died Tuesday, August 13, 2002, at Union.
He was born November 17, 1911, at Beaufort, the son of Herman Sieges and wife Josephine, nee Walde.
Mr. Sieges received his education at St. Joseph,Neier School.
On October 28, 1939, he was united in marriage to Rose Schmit by Father Schaller.
They made their home in the Neier community and six children were born to this marriage.
He worked at Wood Hill for 20 years and later worked at Inland Container as a forklift driver for 13 years where he
retired in 1976.
On November 23, 1973, he was united in marriage to Dorothy Hanneken, nee Hagedorn, and they made their home in
He was a member of St. Mary's Church.
Mr. Sieges was preceded in death by his first wife, Rose Sieges, May 20, 1973; a son, Michael James in infancy, a
daughter, Dorothy Groff on December 28, 1992; a brother, Bill Sieges; and a sister, Amelia Sieges.
He is survived by his second wife Dorothy Sieges, nee Hagedorn, Villa Ridge; one son Herman Sieges and wife Kathy;three daughters, Mary Mohesky, Delores Sawicki and husband Mike, and Linda Bolzenius and husband Paul, all of
Union; 13 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; two sisters-in-law, Celie Hagedorn, Villa Ridge, Mary Fink,Beaufort; one brother-in-law, Butch Bueker and wife Leona, Washington; other relatives and many friends.
The funeral service was held Friday, August 16, at St. Joseph Church at Neier with Rev. Lawrence Schieber officiating.
Interment followed in the church cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, masses are preferred.
The Sieges family was served by Oltmann Funeral Home, Union.
