Donald Paul Carpenter Jr., known to most as "Donnie," 42, St. Clair, departed this life in Creve Coeur Thursday, Nov. 15, 2012.
Donnie was born in St. Louis July 1, 1970, the son of Donald Paul Carpenter Sr. and wife Susan Jane, nee Taylor.
He is survived by his mother, Susan Carpenter, St. Clair; two children, Kelsey Talir, Sullivan, and Brandon Carpenter, Union; grandmothers, Edith Taylor and Virginia "Jean" Carpenter, both of St. Clair; two brothers, Greg Carpenter and wife Tamara, St. Clair, and Timothy Carpenter, Portland, Ore.; one sister, Amanda Carpenter, St. Peters; one niece; one nephew; great-aunts and -uncles; cousins; other relatives and many friends.
Donnie was preceded in death by his father, Donald P. Carpenter Sr.; and grandfathers, Rodman Taylor and Frank Carpenter.
He was a lifelong member of United Methodist Church, St. Clair, and enjoyed attending Bible study with his mom.
Donnie had various jobs throughout his life, but was most recently employed by TEMCO, Marthasville. He also was a member of Harmony Clubhouse, a subsidiary of Crider Center, Washington,
Donnie was a sports enthusiast and never tired of going to games to watch his siblings play or his dad referee. He was always willing to lend a hand to run the clock or do whatever was needed at a sporting event. Nothing meant more to Donnie than his family, and the love they shared made him very happy.
Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Monday, Nov. 19, at Russell Colonial Funeral Home, St. Clair, with the Rev. Linda Harris officiating.
Interment was in United Methodist Cemetery, St. Clair.
Memorials to United Methodist Cemetery, St. Clair, are preferred.
The family was served by Russell Colonial Funeral Home, St. Clair.
