Joseph F. "Joe" Kaiser, 86, Washington, passed away Friday, Nov. 23, 2012.
Mr. Kaiser was born April 14, 1926, in Brooklyn, N.Y., the son of Joseph E. Kaiser and wife Helen, nee Janosko.
He received his education at St. Alphonsus Grade School and Bishop Loughlin High School in Brooklyn, N.Y.
Mr. Kaiser served his country in the U.S. Navy from April 1944 until June 1946 in the hospital corps during World War II.
On May 11, 1946, he was united in marriage to Lois Campbell in Corona, Calif. In 1956 they moved to Washington.
Mr. Kaiser retired from teaching history at St. Francis Borgia Regional High School after 50 years. He was a member of St. Francis Borgia Church, and an usher there for many years.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Lois Kaiser; parents, Joseph and Helen Kaiser; brother, George Kaiser; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Ray and Florence Campbell; and two brothers-in-law, Walter and Kenny Campbell.
Mr. Kaiser is survived by two sons, Mike Kaiser and wife Sue, St. Peters, and Jon Kaiser and wife Donna, Phoenix, Ariz.; three daughters, Diane Hennigs and husband Norman, Seattle, Wash., Patty Branson and husband Keith, and Kathy Kaiser, all of Washington; 10 grandchildren, Emily and Josh McNichols, Michael, Andrew, Amy, Erica, Matthew, Lauren and Jenna Kaiser and Kyle Branson; two great-grandchildren, Gavin and Luella McNichols; other relatives and many friends.
A funeral Mass was held Wednesday, Nov. 28, at St. Francis Borgia Catholic Church with Father Kevin Schmittgens and Father John Mayo officiating.
Burial with full military honors was in the church cemetery.
Donations to St. Francis Borgia Grade School or the Joe Kaiser Fund at St. Francis Borgia Regional High School are preferred.
The Kaiser family was served by Oltmann Funeral Home, Washington.
