Lillian Leoda Holland, nee Schlesinger, 69, Gerald, passed away Sunday, Nov. 25, 2012, in St. Louis.
Mrs. Holland, the daughter of the late Ralph Schlesinger and wife Bernadean, nee Moore, was born March 16, 1943, in Union.
She attended Union's Immaculate Conception Grade School and graduated from Union High School.
Mrs. Holland was an avid reader, hard worker and lived life to its fullest. Throughout her life she overcame every hardship encountered, including many medical issues.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Leroy Schlesinger, and an infant brother, Sylvester Schlesinger; and sister, Meryl Schlesinger.
Mrs. Holland is survived by three sons, Leon "Chris" Roam and Mark Holland, both of Gerald, and Robert Roam, Union; one daughter, Marissa Holland, Dallas, Texas; three brothers, Stanley Schlesinger and Raymond Schlesinger, both of Pacific, and Wilbur "Butch" Schlesinger and wife Donna, Thomasville, N.C.; other relatives and many friends.
A memorial visitation was held from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday, Dec. 1, at Midlawn Funeral Home, Union.
Memorial services followed with Monsignor Matthew Mitas officiating.
Memorials to the American Heart or American Diabetes Association s are preferred.
The family was served by Midlawn Funeral Home, Union.
