Robert E. Heady, Sr. of Bourbon, MO passed away Wednesday, December 05, 2012 at the age of 75 years. He was born in Stanton, Missouri on October 28, 1937 to the late James L. and Maud Woodcock Heady. He and Rita Bach were married February 9, 1969 at the First Presbyterian Church in Sullivan.
Bob retired from General Motors after twenty-five years to devote his life to his passion of farming which he did for his entire life. In addition to farming he was an avid hunter of both turkey and deer. He thoroughly enjoyed going to the Lake of the Ozarks to go boating and to just enjoy the great outdoors.
He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Rita Heady of Bourbon, one son, Robert E. Heady, Jr. and wife, Constance of Sullivan, six daughters, Cheryl (Sheri) Hults and husband, Michael of Beaufort, Cynthia Parmentier and husband, Kevin, of Beaufort, Teresa Rice of Texas, Robbin DeVore of Marthasville, Trudy Heady of Marthasville, Tamara Fuchs and husband, Keith of Bourbon, two brothers, James W. Heady and wife, Glenda and Jack L. Heady and wife, Anna all of Stanton, two sisters, Delores Brown and Yvonne Walker and husband, Robert all of Stanton, 17 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews other relatives and many friends.
Mr. Heady was preceded in death by his parents and two sons-in-law, Douglas (Chris) Gerling and Kenneth DeVore, and a brother-in-law, Donald Brown.
Funeral services were conducted Saturday, December 8, 2012 at First Baptist Church in Stanton with interment in Stanton Cemetery. Visitation for Robert Heady was held Friday, December 7, 2012 at the chapel of the Eaton Funeral Home in Sullivan. In lieu of flowers memorials to B.J.C. Hospice are desired.
