Luther A "Lou" Guthrie, son of the late Cleveland and Ivy Powers Guthrie, was born on August 3, 1907 at Waverly, TN, and departed this life on June 14, 1991 at the family home in Leslie, MO having attained the age of 83 years, 10 months and 11 days.

Surviving him are his wife, Beatrice (Bea); five daughters, Wanda Kissel and husband, Jules, Vera Mae Ely and husband Don, all of St Louis, MO, Brenda Setzler and husband Dave, Kit Lahmann and husband Dan, all of Sullivan ,MO, and Judi Guthrie of Stuart, FL; a sister, Lillie Dettrie of Dexter, MO; a brother, Wren Guthrie, of Milwaukee, WI; 12 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren; other relatives and friends.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a son Gregory Guthrie, and a sister, Ehtel Hawk.

Funeral services were held June 16, 1991 from Hassebroek's Memorial Chapel in Sullivan. Interment was in the Evergreen Cemetery, Sullivan, MO
