Rodger Alan Lee, son of Alvin and Juanita Hollenbeck Lee was born February 23, 1939 in St Louis, MO and departed this life on October 6, 1991 at the family home in Sullivan, MO having attained the age of 52 years 7 months and 13 days.
Rodger was a longtime resident of Sullivan where her was employed by the United Parcel Service until ill health forced his retirement. He professed his faith to Christ, was baptized and a member of the New Testament Baptist Church od Sullivan. Also a member of the Sullivan Masonic Lodge #69 A.F. & A.M. and Sullivan Eastern Star Lodge #105 O.E.S.He served his country with the US MArines both overseas and in the states.
On July 3, 1977 he was united in marriage to Verlene Lanham Ryther. Surviving him are his wife, Verlene; his mother Juanita Deschamp of Lakeland, FL; three daughters, Suzy Strosnider and husband Terry of Sullivan, MO; Becky Storck and husband David of Plant city, FL; Shelly Ryther and Jeff od Sullivan, MO; two sons, Greg West and wife Becky, Ricky Ryther and Regina, all of Sullivan; two brothers, Tom Lee of High Ridge, MO, Jim Lee of Lakeland, FL; eight grandchildren, P D Alexander, Rachel Halbert, Cory, NIchole and Chris West,Damien and Cindy Steele, and Brandon Ryther, other relatives and many friends.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and was an avid outdoor enthusiast. He will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered. memorial services were held October 7, by Sullivan Masonic Lodge #69 A.F. & A. M.
funeral services were held October 8 1991 from Hassebroek’s Memorial Chapel in Sullivan with Pastor Oliver Mullen officiating. Interment was in the IOOF Cemetery, Sullivan, MO.
Arrangements were under the direction of Hassebroek’s, Sullivan, MO.
