Wesley Dewayne Peters, son of the late Calvin and Ethel Lillian Kaye Peters, was born August 20, 1941 in Butler county, MO, and departed this life on November 15, 1991 at the Missouri Baptist Hospital in Sullivan, MO, having attained the age of 50 years, 2 months and 25 days.
Wes was a resident of Dupo, IL, moving to Sullivan in 1983. He was employed as the plant manager for Ace Manufacturing until ill health forced his retirement. He professed his faith in christ, was baptized and attended the Faith Assembly of God Church in Sullivan.
From 1966 to 1979 he served his country with the United States Coast Guard, serving in Vietnam as well as in the states.
On April 9, 1980 at Belleville, IL, he was united in marriage to Joanne Wood.
Surviving him are his wife, Joanne; three daughters, Cheryl Peters of Ashland, KY, Rebecca Peters of the family home, and Katie Gambill of Marthasville, MO; one son Matthew Peters of the family home; a sister Ester Brinker of Dupo, IL; his parents-in=law, Joe and Kay Wood of Kirkwood, MO; other relatives and many friends.
Besides his parents he was preceded in death by a sister and brother in infancy, Ruth and Albert, and a brother Melvin.
A kind and loving husband, father, son-in-law, brother, brother-in-law, uncle, and friend, he will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered.
Memorial services were held November 17, 1991 by Sullivan Lodge #156 IOOF.
Funeral services were held November 18,1991 from the Faith Assembly of God Church in Sullivan. Interment was in the IOOF Cemetery, Sullivan, MO.
Arrangements were under the directions of Hassebroek’s Memorial Chapel, Sullivan, MO.
