George C (Butch) Evans, III, of Sullivan, passed away September 14, 1991, at the age of 51 years.
Butch, as he was known by his family and friends, was born to Mary C Underwood Evans and the late George C Evans, Jr, on February 22, 1939 at Springfield, IL. He was raised in the St Louis area and had graduated high school there. He honorably served his country with the U S Army before coming to the Sullivan Area in 1978. Butch owned and operated the Stanton Motel and was a member of the VFW Russell Schmidt Post 3987 of Sullivan.
survivors include a daughter Stacey Evans of Lincoln, NE; his mother, Mrs Mary Evans of Sullivan, and a brother Charles Evans of St. Louis; a special friend Carol Provence of Sullivan, and other relatives and friends. Mr Evans was also preceded in death by one brother Howard.
Funeral services will be conducted September 18, 1991, from the eaton Funeral Home in Sullivan with Pastor Eldon Underwood officiating. Interment will be in Shephard Hills Cemetery, Imperial, MO.
