Alice Evelyn Downing, 59, died September 10, 1991 at her home in Salina, KS.

Mrs Downing was born Alice Evelyn Dixon on October 7, 1931 at St Clair, MO and been a Salina resident for 10 years. She was a homemaker.

Her husband John Sr., died in 1978, and a son Leroy died in 1971.

Survivors include two sons, John H. Jr of Salina, KS and Thomas of St Louis; two daughters, Terry Ann Pope of Salina, and Barbara A Pinkston of Dothan, AL; four brothers, Andrew Dixon of Bourbon, MO, Harold Dixon of Johnston, CO, James Dixon of Sullivan, MO, and John M Dixon of Havre de Grace, MD; two sisters Dorothy Bolin of Sullivan and Virginia Boll of Pacific, MO; 11 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were conducted September 11, 1991 at the First Foursquare Church, Salina, KS. Graveside services were conducted September 13,1991 with burial in the Buffalo Cemetery, Sullivan. Local arrangements were under the care of Eaton Funeral Home, Sullivan.
