Anna H James, wife of Marvin R James, passed away on August 3, 1991, at Sullivan, MO having reached the age of 79 years.
Mrs James was born at St James, MO, on September 18, 1991, daughter of the late Charles H and Naomi Kingston Henry.
She lived her entire childhood in the St James area, attending the Elkhorst Grade School near Winkler, MO and the St James High School in St James.
In 1936 [Jan 9], she was united in marriage to Marvin R James at Iberia, MO, and they were blessed with fifty-five years of marriage. In early 1937 they moved from St James to Sullivan, where she spent the remainder of her life, and they raised their three children.
Anna was a member of St Anthony Parish and very devoted to her church, volunteering much of her time to numerous church activities over the years. She was also very involved in her community and served many years as President of the Annual Cancer Fund Drives and Anna was very active in the Sullivan Community Hospital Auxiliary. However, her husband and children and their wellbeing was always her first concern. She will always be lovingly remembered by all who knew her. In addition to the joy of raising her family, Anna enjoyed sewing, gardening, raising flowers, and attending her bridge club.
Sheis survived by her husband Marvin of Sullivan; two sons, David M James of Sullivan and Dennis C James of Tuscaloosa, AL; one daughter, Margaret Ann Carey and husband Steven of Sullivan; four sisters, Alice Cornick of Rolla, virginia Karraker and husband Joe of Union, Evelyn Enright of St Ann, and Georgia Lippe and husband Art of Houston, TX; one grandson Ryan Carey of Sullivan; two sisters-in-law Lorraine Skiles and husband Cliff of Dittmer, Dixie Hangge and husband John of Pittsburgh.....rest missing.
