Robert Russell Fletcher Sr., 100, Eureka, went to be with the Lord Wednesday, Jan. 9, 2013.
He was born to Lawrence Edgar Fletcher and wife Mary Alice, nee Dennis, Jan. 28, 1912, in Washington, Ind.
Mr. Fletcher and Lillian Lorraine Vorderbruegge were married in St. Louis Oct. 21, 1939.
He was a devout Christian and attended Eureka Bible Church, Eureka.
Mr. Fletcher was an avid pool player who enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, camping and gardening. Many people in the area enjoyed his fruits and vegetables.
Mr. Fletcher was in the auto body business for many years in the Eureka area.
He was preceded in death by six sisters and brothers-in-law and one daughter-in-law, Linda Fletcher, Columbia.
Mr. Fletcher is survived by his wife of 73 years, Lillian Fletcher, Eureka; two sons, Robert Fletcher Jr., Columbia, and Lawrence Fletcher (Carol), Union; six grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; three nieces; other relatives and many friends.
Visitation was held Saturday, Jan. 12, from 4 to 8 p.m. at Schrader Funeral Home, 108 North Central Ave., Eureka, MO 63025.
Funeral services were held Sunday, Jan. 13, at 1 p.m. at the funeral home.
Interment was in Memorial Park Cemetery, 5200 Lucas and Hunt, St. Louis.
The family was served by Schrader Funeral Home, Eureka.
