Genevieve Caroline Crow of St louis, MO, was born on May 6, 1917 at St Clair, MO, daughter of the late Samuel J Crow, Sr. and Clarissa Crow nee Jennings. she was blessed to have six sisters and three brothers during her lifetime. Genevieve departed this life on November 27, 1991, having reached the age of seventy-four years, six months and twenty-one days.
She is survived by five sisters: Mattie Meyer of St Louis, Lillian Short of St Clair, Eva Walsh of Arnold, Edna Murphy and husband Robert of Downers Grove,IL, and Margaret "Vi" Kreienheder and husband Ray of St Clair; by one godson, Gary Kreienheder and wife, Rose of Moscow Mills, MO; by one sister-in-law, Hazel Crow of St Clair; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one sister, Nellie Masek and by three brothers, Harold, Carl and Samuel Crow, Jr.
Genevieve was a self-employed beautician for many years, owning and operating the Apollo Beauty shop in St Louis. She was Protestant by Faith and enjoyed attending Church with her friends. She was also a member of the Oder of Eastern Star, St Louis Chapter 313. One of her favorite pastimes was reading, but nothing gave her more pleasure than to spend time with her family. Although she had no children of her own, her many nieces, nephews, great and great-great nieces and nephews were very special to her and dearly loved.
Being a caring and giving individual, it was with dignity and honor that Genevieve chose to donate her body to the St Louis University of Medicine in St Louis, MO.
A kind and loving sister, sister-in-law, godmother, aunt, great and great-great aunt cousin, and treasured friend, she will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew her.
Memorial services were held December 14, 1991 at St John United Church of Christ, St Clair with Rev Bruce Moeller officiating. Memorials may be made to the Evangelical Children's Home of St Louis.
