Hadley A. Schmidt of Sullivan, husband of Anna Laura Thurmond Schmidt, and son of the late Charlie Henry and Maude Alice Blankenship Schmidt, passed away Thursday, July 9, 1998 at the age of 87 years.
Mr. Schmidt was born September 18, 1910, at Elmont, Missouri near Sullivan. Hadley had lived his entire life in the Sullivan area. In 1934, he was married to Anna Laura Blankenship and to this marriage two children were born. Hadley was a driver for the Schmidt Film Service for 28 years. Later he farmed with his brother Roscoe. He will be fondly remembered by all who knew him.
He is survived by his wife, Anna, one daughter, Shirley Summers of Sullivan, one son Douglas Schmidt, two brothers and sisters-in-law, Eddie Gene and Verna Schmidt, Jimmie Dean and Peggy Schmidt, all of Sullivan, one sister and brother-in-law, Anita and Walter Cartwright of Pond, Missouri, three grandchildren, Douglas Schmidt and wife Kelley, Dawn Renick and husband Gale, Valerie Brooks and husband Ken, two great-grandchildren, Andrew and Olivia Brooks, and other relatives and friends. Hadley was preceded in death by four brothers, Earl, Russell, Roscoe and Harold Schmidt and by two sisters, Ava Lindsay and Ruth Stevens.
In keeping with the desires of the family, all services were private. The family requests memorials be made to First Baptist Church of Sullivan.
Arrangements were under the care of the Eaton Funeral Home, Sullivan.
