Joseph Scott Lewis, 22, St. Clair, was born in Washington on May 7, 1975, the son of Paula Jean Floyd, nee Lewis, and the late Douglas Gene Diesel. Jose died near St. Clair on May 8, 1997.
He is survived by his mother, Paula Jean Floyd, St. Clair, his granparents, Delbert G. Lewis, Sr., and Grace Lewis, St. Clair; his brothers, Steven Michael Floyd and Robert Lewis, both of St. Clair; his sister, Ashley Renee Lewis, St. Clair; his girlfriend, Sherry Hemker and her son, Todd, St. Clair; his former stepfather, Carl Floyd, Houston, Texas; aunts, uncles, great-aunts and -uncles, one nephew, cousins and many friends.
Joe was of the Catholic faith and a member of the St. Clare Catholic Church. He loved the outdoors and worked in the underground cable installation industry. Joe attended St. Clair Public Schoools, graduating from St. Clair High School in 1993.
Outdoor activities were his favorite and he often went camping and fishing. Hunting and swimming were enjoyed the most when his family was able to go with him. The wonderful times he has shared with his family and friends, and the love he has created, will be remembered by them all forever.
Memorial services were held at 7 p.m. Monday, May 12, at the Russell Colonial Funeral Home in St. Clair with Father Paul Telken and Sister Fern Nye officiating. Private committal services will take place at a later date.
