Pauline Minnie Scharringhausen was born at New Hanover, Ill., May 13, 1893, the daughter of Frederich Fischer and his wife, Cora, nee Lark. She died at the Sullivan Nursing Center Wednesday, June 11, 1986. She was 93 years old.
She received her schooling in Illinois and grew to young womanhood there.
August 17, 1910, she was united in marriage to Henry Scharringhausen in St. Louis. They made their home in St. Louis until 1942 when they moved to a farm at Grubville. Four children were born to this marriage.
Mrs. Scharringhausen was a member of St. Martin's Church at Dittmer.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry, on June 9, 1954, and also by a son, William Scharringhausen.
For a short time she lived in Florida and in 1971 she moved to Washington to live with her son Vernon.
Those who survive are: a daughter, Alice Kagle of Florida; two sons, Vernon Scharringhausen of Marthasville and Melvin Scharringhausen of Oregon; grandchildren, great-grandchildren, sisters, brothers, nieces, nephews and many other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held Friday, June 13, 1986, from the Oltmann Funeral Home in Union by Rev. Ruth Rinne of the Emmaus Home in Marthasville. Interment was in St. Louis.
