Everett Clay Cann was born at Alton, Ill. September 28, 1905, the son of Francis Cann and his wife, Goldie, nee Myers. He died at St. John's Mercy Hospital in Washington Sunday, June 8, 1986. He was 80 years old.
He grew up in St. Louis and received his schooling there.
November 21, 1931, he was united in marriage to Miss Margaret Gibbons at Hannibal. They made their home in St. Louis until 1958 when they moved to Union to live. Two sons were born to this marriage.
Mr. Cann was a 50-year member of the Hannibal Masonic Lodge, No. 188. He had been employed by the United Shoe Machine Company for many years.
He was preceded in death by two sisters, Mildred Cann and Georgiana Sanders.
Those who survive are: his wife, Margaret Cann of Union; two sons, Malcolm Cann and his wife, Dolores of Harvester, Mo., and Marvin and his wife, Charlene, of Washington; four grandchildren, Matthew, Mark and Brett and Rachel Cann; sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews and many other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, June 10, 1986, from the Oltmann Funeral Home in Union by Rev. John Graham. Graveside services were conducted at the Mt. Olive Cemetery at Hannibal by Rev. Robert Bullock.
