Mary Dorothy Kohring was born at Union on April 24, 1903, the daughter of the late Albert J. Mueller and his wife, Rosa Belle, nee Mehl, and passed away at the Cedar Crest Manor in Washington, Mo., on Sunday, Jan. 18, 1987, in her 84th year. She received her schooling here in Union and grew to young womanhood here, graduating from the Union High School in 1921.
On Dec. 24, 1933, she was united in marriage to Walter J. Kohring in Zion Evangelical Church by Rev. F.E.J. Schenk and they made their home here in Union. Mrs. Kohring had been employed by the Union Motor Company as a bookkeeper for over 20 years and also was employed in the office of Carmo Shoe Company for many years. She was a member of the Zion United Church of Christ of Union and the Women's Guild of the church serving in numerous ways for many years.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter, on Feb. 18, 1984. Also by three brothers, General Paul J. Mueller, Emmert Mueller and Carl in infancy, and by two sisters, Helen Breen and Mildred Stills.
Those who survive are one niece, Betsy Parker of Potomac, Maryland and one nephew, Paul J. Mueller, Jr., of McClean, Virginia. Cousins, Mabel Frischholz, Bob, Rita and Ina Claire Frischholz, all of Columbus, Nebraska, and Katherine Schmelz and Jean Morgan of Union. Sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Floyd and Marcella Kohring of Union and many friends.
Funeral services were held on Tuesday, Jan. 20 from the Oltmann Funeral Home in Union at 2 p.m. by Rev. John Stevesand. Interment followed in the Union Cemetery.
