Auvilla Marie Pillen of Dittmer passed away on Tuesday, Oct. 27, 1987 at the Jefferson Memorial Hospital, Crystal City, Mo., having reached the age of 86 years, one month and seven days. She was the youngest of five children of Alonzo Ramey and Wilson. She had descended from three early Missouri pioneer families - Moses Ramey who came from the state of Kentucky and settled in the High Ridge area, Simeon Frost and John Wilson who came on a wagon train from Abbeyville, S.C., and settled in the Grubville area. Many of the Ramey, Frost and Wilson descendents are now living in Jefferson and St. Louis Counties, and also in the state of Illinois.
Surviving are one stepson, Norvil Pillen and wife, Margaret of Dittmer; one stepdaughter, Donna Udovich and husband, Bill of Concord, N.C.; two grandchildren, Robin and Julie Pillen; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Pillen in 1974, by two brothers, Robert and George M. Ramey, one sister, Mary Ettie Ramey.
Mrs. Pillen was a Christian and had been a charter member of the First Baptist Church in St. Clair. She and her husband had worked with the Production Credit Associaiton in St. Clair for many years.
A kind and loving stepmother, grandmother, aunt and cousin, and a treasured friend, she will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew her.
Funreal services were held at 2 p.m. Friday, Oct. 30, 1987 at the First Baptist Church, the Rev. Jerry Cowin officiating. Interment was in the Fairview Cemetery, Grubville, Mo.
