Matthew Whitener, son of Gene Whitener and Melanie Vassalli Whitener passed away at St. Louis University Hospital, St. Louis, Missouri, Wednesday, March 4, 1987, at the age of 18 years.
Matthew was born January 9, 1969 at Sullivan, Missouri where he lived his entire life. Matthew was a senior at Sullivan High School where he had many good friends. Among his hobbies Matthew enjoyed working with computers, and riding his motorcycle.
Surviving are: parents, Gene and Melanie Vassalli Whitener of Sullivan, Missouri, one brother, Sean Eugene Whitener, and two sisters, Katrina Mae, and Bridget Brianne Whitener along with one niece Lyndsay Carol Whitener who lived at the family home, all of Sullivan, Missouri. Also surviving are grandparents, May Adell Whitener and Ronald and Katherine Vassalli and one great aunt Minerva Immekus all of Sullivan, other relatives and many friends. Matthew was preceded in death by his grandfather Maurice Whitener.
Bible services for Mr. Whitener was held at the Eaton Funeral Home Sullivan, Missouri. Funeral Mass was celebrated Saturday March 7, 1987 from Saitn Anthony's Catholic Church, with the Reverend Father Charles Deister officiating. Interment was in I.O.O.F. Memorial Cemetery.
Funeral arrangements were under the care of the Eaton Funeral Home, Sullivan, Missouri.
