Christine Miesner, nee Bax, 96, Washington, was surrounded by her loving family when she passed away Wednesday, Oct. 30, 2013, at Cedarcrest Manor, Washington.
She was born May 7, 1917, in St. Elizabeth, the daughter of Bernard Bax and wife Anna, nee Eichholz.
Christine was a homemaker and enjoyed her time with her family playing games such as Rack-O, any kind of cards, especially pinochle. She loved to challenge the grandkids at pitching washers, and usually beat them. Christine loved to quilt as well.
She is survived by three sons, Lloyd Miesner and wife Bernadette, Washington, Roger Miesner and wife Susan, Marthasville, and Daniel Miesner, Warrenton; five daughters, LaVerne Weber, Carol Gildehaus and husband Lawrence, Judy Brueggemann and husband Carl, all of Washington, Diane Hackmann and husband Charles, Omaha, Neb., and Ellen Fees and husband Syd, Marthasville; 25 grandchildren; 39 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; one brother, Leander Bax, St. Anthony; two sisters, Josephine Green, St. Anthony, and Rose Guderman, St. Elizabeth; many other relatives and friends.
Christine was preceded in death by her loving husband, Aloysius Miesner; parents, Bernard and Anna Bax; four brothers, Arthur, Edmund, Gregory and Elmer; and two sisters, Zeta and Agatha.
Visitation was held from 3 to 8 p.m. Friday, Nov. 1, at Martin Funeral Home, Marthasville.
A Mass of Christian burial was celebrated Saturday, Nov. 2, at 10 a.m. at St. Ignatius Catholic Church, Concord Hill.
Interment was in the church cemetery.
Memorials can be made to the Concord Hill Technology Fund or Masses.
