The William Chinn that I know, who died in 1928, was William H. [H, not W] Chinn. I do note that, in his will [which I have] he made his H look like a W. He was most probably born in Lafayette County Missouri as his parents, Hector C. Chinn and Sarah Frances Dedcord were married there on 23 Oct. 1860. She was his second wife. William was born on 11 May 1870. Hector died in Higginsville, Lafayette County in 1886. He had been a farmer (with slaves prior to the Civil War)

William was the half brother (different mother) of my great grandfather, Benjamin S. Chinn who had a feed store in Springfield.

I have bare information of Hector, but there is a lot on the web or your prior ancestors. What do you already know?
