If anyone has access to the Grundy County Marriage Index for the early 1920s, I would appreciate a look-up. I have located information on the 1925 Iowa State Census that appears to indicate that my g-grandmother may have married in Trenton, Grundy County, MO sometime between Jan. 20, 1920 and Jan. 1, 1925. I have serious doubts about the accuracy of this information, however.
Jacob L. Ensign and Ella Mae Maseker (1st marriage - Monroe, 2nd Marriage - Adams) were married sometime between the death of Jacob Ensign's first wife and the 1925 Iowa State Census. They lived in Davenport, Iowa and the only connection I can find to Trenton is that Jacob's first wife, Hazel Essler, was probably born in Trenton where her parents were married in 1890 and lived for 3 years before moving to Davenport.
It doesn't make sense to me that Jacob would take his new bride to be married in the location of his deceased wife's birth, a place she hadn't lived since infancy, but since that's the only lead I have, I would like to follow up on it. I'm hopeful that someone with easy access could check the index for me so that I might take the next step to obtaining the record.
