Don't know if cave is the same place but, according to family tradition. During battle of Pilot Knob my grx2 grandmother Alcey Norris (Robinson) was a baby in her mother's arms when family hid in cave during battle. Alcey was born 3/5/64 in Portsmouth and her father was a John Pleasant Norris who I believe was involved with the Iron Mountain Railroad at that time. I was at the 100 year dedication at Fort Davidson when I heard my grandmother first mention this. My mother stated that during her youth she heard her grandmother tell the story and further mentioned this cave was located across the highway at the Ironton train station.
