Evelyn Darlene Carlill, age 69, Joplin, passed away at 11:50 p.m. Sunday, January 27, 2008 at St. John's Regional Medical Center.
Mrs. Carlill was born March 10, 1938 in Joplin, Missouri to the late Fred Gilstrap and Ellen (Henderson) Gilstrap and had lived in Joplin most of her life. She spent 17 years in Colorado. While there, she worked at Sears Roebuck in Lakeland and Coors, Inc. in Golden. A homemaker, she was a member of Spring City Baptist Church, where she volunteered as bookkeeper.
She married Bill Carlill on January 22, 1954 in Joplin. He survives at the home.
Additional survivors include two sons, Randy Carlill and wife, Pauline, Denver, Colorado, Rodney Carlill and wife, Sherry, Sarcoxie; a daughter, Robin Hansen, Denver, Colorado; six grandchildren; and eleven great grandchildren. Darlene was one of ten children. She had five sisters and four brothers and is survived by Ronnie, Robert, Ruth, and Helen. She was also preceded in death by a grandson, Adam Carlill.
Services will be Saturday at 10:00 a.m. at Parker Mortuary Chapel. Rev. Jack Daniels will officiate. Interment will follow at Osborne Memorial Cemetery with Rex Black, Edward Etherton, Doug Hansen, Garret Hansen, Dominic Carlill and Eric Carlill serving as pallbearers. The family will receive friends from 7-8:00 p.m. Friday at Parker Mortuary Chapel.
