I hate to bring up the KKK due to their beliefs and activities. But I have question I hope someone may be able to help me with.
My Great-Great Grandparents lived in and around Joplin & southeast Kansas in 1890-1930's. When my Great-Great Grandfather died in December of 1924 the family put a Card of Thanks in the Joplin Globe. One of the people they thanked was the Ku Klux Klan.
When I seen this I was shocked and I truly hope my family did not participate in the activities of the Klan. I am curious if anyone knows about the activities of the Klan in that area in that time period?
Thank you very much for your help.
