CHARLEY BLOCK DIES SUDDENLY
Charles Block died very suddenly at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Jonas Farney, Sarcoxie Prairie, last Friday morning, and his body was buried at the Humphrey cemetery Sunday.
Mr. Block was found dead in the yard and an inquest was held in the afternoon of the day he died to determine the cause of his death. The jury found a verdict to the effect that death was due to natural causes. The body was then embalmed. Funeral services were held at the home Sunday, when Rev M. T. Robb conducted the exercises and pronounced a well merited eulogy over the remains of his deceased neighbor and friend.
Mr. Block was about 71 years of age and was a veteran of the Mexican and Civil wars. He was a man of quiet, unpretentious manner, yet of high character and strict integrity. He was a familiar figure around Sarcoxie, where he will be greatly missed. He is survived by three children, two sons and one daughter, all grown and married.
