My grandfather's brother was William Montgomery Baker (1890-1963). He was born in New Jersey but from about 1930 through the Nineteen Fifties he operated a business in Jasper County on old Route 66 called Log City. Log City included tourist cabins, a restaurant, tavern and a gas station. William's wife was Billie Nora (maiden name unknown). He had no other family living in the immediate area. William was a very gregarious person and was probably well known locally. Billie Nora Baker lived until 1972. I have only one photograph of William and none of his wife Billie Nora. I would like to make contact with anyone who knew William and Billie Nora Baker and I would be especially grateful for any photographs of them. Thank you, Eric Baker, Durham, North Carolina. My direct e-mail is ussportsmouth46@aol.com.
