Bannister Hickey is buried in the Stone Cemetary on county line of Jasper and Newton Countys. The cemetary book has some very interesting history of his family. His grandfather John married Mary Middleton. John's will left at least 400 acres to each of his 11 children and a life interest to the plantation and the business in Henry Co Virginia to his wife Mary. Bannister and Middleton came with 3 more brothers to Cooper county Mo then to the Carthage MO. where the set up the first court house. Bannister married Marthe "Patsy" Burris and when she died he married Lucretis (Cagel) widow of William Melugin. His daughter married her step brother William Martin Melugin. Their daughter married Robert Sherman Martin. Their daughter was my Grandmother.

The Banister I referred to in an earlier message lived from 1802-1897. He had a brother name John and a son named John born in 1827. I have no further info on either of these Johns. Banister had at least 11 children and there are some Johns scattered through the line plus there are some of the children with Bannister as a middle name. We really need more information to determine if the John you refer to is in the line of Hickeys I have.
