Jerry L. Rutledge, 66, High Ridge, died August 27, 2004 at his home. He was born August 19, 1938, in Potosi, the son of Joseph and Myrtle (Venable) Rutledge.
He worked for Simpson Companies in Valley Park for 28 years until his retirement in 1999. He served in the U.S. Navy.
He is survived by his wife of 29 years, Patricia (Smith) Rutledge; two daughters, Catherine (Bernard) Szybura of North Augusta, Ga., and Cindy (Roger) Bowen of Fenton; two sons, William Rutledge of Norfolk, Va, and Jerry (Jenni) Rutledge Jr., of Fenton; two brothers, Butch (Trudy) Rutledge of Highland, Ohio, and Randy (Charlie) Rutledge of Ironton; his father-and mother-in-law, William and Virginia Smith of St. Mary's; his brother-in-law, Larry (Jean) Smith of Bonne Terre; four nieces and nephews, Lance Rutledge, Todd (Loretta) Smith, Amy (Patrick) Higgins and Troy (Yvette) Smith; and six grandchildren, Maggie Jean, Christopher, Sarah, Abigail, James and Kole.
Funeral was August 31 at Chapel Hill Mortuary, Cedar Hill. Interment is in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
