Clarence M. "Sleep" Parmeley, 65, of DeSoto, Mo. was born January 27, 1931 at DeSoto, Mo. a son of the late Roy and Julia (Craig) Parmeley and died Thursday, October 28, 1999 in St. Louis, Mo. He was a Carman for Missouri Pacific Railroad.

He was united in marriage April 21, 1956 at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, DeSoto, to Elva Jean (Wagner) Parmeley who preceded him in death.

Survivors include nine sons: Dan and wife Edna, DeSoto; Harold of Phoenix, Arizona; Karl and wife Kim, Bloomsdale, Mo.; Joe and wife Anita, Arizona; Todd and wife Michelle, Ft. Myers, Florida; Adam and wife Brandy; Max and Mitch Parmeley, DeSoto and John Parmeley and wife (Anita) Valle Mines; four daughters: Cindy Latham and husband Larry, DeSoto; Debbie Fitzgerald and husband Jim, St. Louis; Belle Parmeley, Hillsboro and Sherry Parmeley, Ft. Myers, Fl; three brothers: Leroy (Bill), Earl and Bob Parmeley, DeSoto; 16 grandchildren, 1 great grandchild, other relatives and many friends.

Besides his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Grace Parmeley and a brother, Donald Parmeley.

Mr. Parmeley was a member of St. Rose of Lima Church and the Knights of Columbus.

Funeral services were 10 A.M. Tuesday, November 2, 1999 at St. Rose of Lima Church with Father Ron Hopmier officiating. Burial was in Calvary Cemetery, DeSoto. Mahn Funeral Home, DeSoto, was in charge of all arrangements.
