Joseph Leonard Klataske, 69, Baring, MO, died Monday, Jan. 11, 1999, in the Kirksville Manner Care Center at Kirksville, MO.
He was born in Hanover, KS, July 17, 1929, the son of Frank and Anna Pulsfort Klataske.
On March 5, 1957, at St. Aloysius Catholic Church, Baring, he was united in marriage to Doris M. Reynolds.
Preceding him in death were his parents; two brothers, Frank and Francie Klataske and one sister, Annie Fifer.
Surviving are his wife, Doris Klataske of Baring, MO; three sons, Donald Klataske, Baring; and friend, Laurie Johnson; Ronald Klataske and wife, Rosalee, also of Baring, Ernie Klataske and wife, Gaylynn of LaBelle, MO; one daughter, Karen Combe and husband, John, Stanberry, MO; seven grandchildren; two brothers, J. Klataske of Corydon, IA and John Klataske of Baring, MO; one sister, Mary Barton, Arvada, CO and several nieces and nephews. Mr. Klataske, at the age of 12, moved to Baring where he has been a lifelong resident. He was a man of many talents; he did tree trimming, carpentry, plumbing, farming, and many other jobs. For 16 years he was a school bus driver for the Knox County School District. He was a member of the St. Aloysius Church of Baring and a local group of CB radio enthusiasts. Joseph enjoyed the outdoors and was always busy with some project, hunting, or working with horses. He also enjoyed spending time with family and friends.
Mass of the Christian Burial was held Tuesday, Jan. 14, 1999 at St. Aloysius church in Baring with Father Greg Meystrik officiating.
Brent Karhoff, soloist and Nancy Reardon, provided the music.
Burial was in St. Aloysius Catholics Cemetery, Baring, MO.
Casketbearers were Bobby Klataske, Ryan Snelling, Don Delaney, Greg Mallett, Terry Hunolt, and Eric Hunolt. Honorary bearers were Jack Little, Clyde Potter, Wallace Elder and Kevin Moore.
