JOHNSON KY - MO early 1800s

Posted: 21 Oct 2013 6:53PM GMT
Classification: Query
Surnames: Johnson, Dowell, Butt, Butts
JAMES JOHNSON,
ALEXANDER JOHNSON,
REBECCA JOHNSON,

All three born in KY between 1815-1825.
All three migrated to northeast Missouri.
Are they related, and if so, who is their common ancestor?
I have all their info going forward.

James Johnson appears in Clark County, MO in 1840 census and marries Elizabeth Butt(s) the same year. He remains there until Elizabeth dies abt 1877 and then he goes to Santa Cruz, CA.

Rebecca Johnson appears in Clark County, MO in 1848, when she marries Charles Dowell. They move over to Lewis County, where Rebecca remains until some time prior to the 1880 census when she is in Yuba, CA.

Alexander appears in Clark County, MO, in the 1850 census when he is a farm laborer with the above referenced James Johnson. And then in the 1860 census, in Lewis County, MO, when he is a farm laborer with the above referenced Charles and Rebecca Dowell. I am unable to locate Alexander after 1860.

So, my question is: are Rebecca, James and Alexander Johnson related to each other?

Thanks.
