Raymond L. Byington, 75, of Pleasanton, KS, died Oct. 22, 2002, at his home. He was born June 27, 1927, at Fredericktown, the son of Frederick and Mabel Elders Byington. He was married to Henrietta Marie Haselhorst on Oct. 10, 1951. She preceded him in death on Oct. 14, 1980.
Raymond was employed with Southwestern Bell as an exchange repairman until his retirement in 1979. He was a World War II veteran and a member of the Olathe VFW #2993, where he had served as past post commander.
Survivors include: three sons: Ron Byington and wife Jolene of Olathe, KS; Joe Byington and wife Gail of Overland Park, KS and John Byington and wife Hazel of Pleasanton, KS; one daughter, Sharon Barden and husband Dennis of Osawatomie, KS; one sister, Rhonda Inman of Bismarck and five grandchildren.
Visitation, Friday from 7-8 p.m. at the Coffel-Schneider Chapel, Pleasanton, KS. Funeral services Saturday at 10 a.m. at the Chapel. Interment, Woodland Cemetery, Mound City, KS. The family suggests contributions to the American Heart Association or American Diabetes Association.
