Charles Hutton was born in Osage county,mo.Mary Hughes was born in Maries county,mo. They were married and lived in Maries county,mo.Charles was the son of Wesley Hutton, born in Illinois and married in Osage county,mo.Charles died young in 1862 and Mary remaried a widower named Moses
My grandmother was Mary(Molly) Howard born in 1887 to Silas Edwrd Howard and Sarah Jane Hutton (Howard).She married John Jefferson Peterson Pulaski county,mo. I simply have no werifiable info. on Sarah Jane Hutton or her family.She was born the same year Charles Hutton died. I am assuming she was adopted by Moses family but kept her fathers name? I could be wrong.

I have located all the siblings of Charles and Mary since this posting.I thought this would solve my mystery but it did not.I am looking for the family of Sarah Jane Hutton born 1862, married Silas Edward Howard and lived at Swedeborg in Pulaski County,mo.They were married in 1880.She was my Grandmothers Mother and i cannot find her parents or siblings. I thought it was Charles Hutton that was her father, but it was not.Thank you for your reply.

I am related to the Copelands of Maries Co thru Frances 'Fanny' Copeland b 1840 who married William A Henson/Hinson and Fanny's brother Jehu 'Jake' Copeland b 1845 who married William's sister Emily 'Olive Bath' Henson/Hinson. Both Fanny and Jake are children of Soloman Copeland Jr b abt 1804. Both William and Emily are children of George W Henson/Hinson and Anna Forbish/Forbes-Henson/Hinson of 1860 Webster Co MO (Sand Springs area), and of 1870 Maries Co MO. The Henson/Hinson's came from Jackson/Laurel Co Kentucky. Thanks for sharing. Roaten E 'R.E.' Charles Samuel and Sarah Agnes Carroll are buried in the Vienna Cemetery. They were the parents of 2 children, Earl Samuel and Gladys. Gladys married Dwight Vandervort and I don't believe they had any children. Earl married Helen Eckholdt and had 2 children, Loren and Earline. Earline died in 1973 in O'Fallon. Loren was living in St Charles, Missouri when I last spoke with him but that was a few years ago.

Martha McDaniel's death certificate shows her interred at the Hutchison Cemetery. Father James Adkins of Tennessee and mother Mary of Tennessee as reported by Willard Shockley.

Rev. John G. Copeland married Susannah(not Rosanna) Sewell 3 Jan. 1816 Jefferson Co. TN. She died after the 1830 census 1830 in Roane Co. TN then he married her sister Anna Sewell 22 July 1832 in Roane Co. TN both were daughters of Pleasant & Catherine Sewell. If you need more info email me.

I have a Francis America Fisher, listed as daughter of Thomas B. Fisher and Francis Ann Blackwell. Thomas B. Fisher died 1858 and is buried in Oak Forest Cemetery, Gasconade Co, MO. His wife, who later married James Marcus Ballard is there as well. Amercia Fisher, died 1937 is also buried there. After her divorce from Martin L. Stumpf [buried in High Gate Baptist Cemetery with his second wife], she married a Petty. They had a son Samuel L. Petty.

I descend from Anna Branson md Benjamin Simpson 1839 Gasconade Co MO. Her parents were Thomas Branson and Susannah McGowan, grandparents were Jarred Branson and Sarah Cock, David McGowan and Margarith Madison.

Anna Branson Simpson had numerous relatives in Maries Co.

John Henry Clark born 24 Jun 1848 - appeared on the 1880 Mortality Schedule of Boone Township, Maries County, MO died Mar 30 1880. Looking for any information on the disposition of Missouri Ann & children Mary E. (Summers), James Andrew, Ida, William A. & Henry Perry. Family stories indicate that Missouri Ann died 2 years later, leaving the children orphaned. Henry Perry was 2 months old at the time of his father's death.

Ruby Mildred Cook of Belle died peacefully in her home, early Wednesday morning, May 2, 2012. She was 90. Ruby was born on February 24, 1922, in Maries County. She is the daughter of the late Rev John and Rilda Thompson Jett. On April 20, 1940, Ruby was married to Bennie Cook and their marriage was blessed with five children. Surviving Ruby are two sons Buddy Cook with his wife Lourea and Gary Cook with his wife Bessie both of Belle and two daughters Janet Kottwitz with her husband Gene of Belle and Marsha Land with her husband Sam of Jefferson City. Also surviving is a sister in law Ruby Jett. There are 7 grand children, 27 great grand children and 1 great great grand daughter. Ruby is preceded in death by her husband Bennie and an infant daughter Kathleen Faye Cook. Also preceding Ruby are all of her brothers and sisters Bryce Jett, Jewel Blackwell, Opal Litton, Vera Glenn, Irene Pendleton, Dale Helmig, Marie Ennis, Bernice Linghorst, Boyd Jett, infant Neva Jett, and another infant girl. Ruby was a lifetime resident of the Belle community. She worked for 33 years in the International Shoe Factory. She was a member of the Liberty Church of Christ.

She was the first wife of Thomas J. Kinsey who is buried in the High Gate Cemetery. She was the daughter of Benjamin Wishon and died on March 17, 1861.

Isabelle and Arch T. Morris Parents

A message from Margaret Gentges from June 1, 2010 states that she believes that Isabelle Morris and Arch T. Morris are the children of John W. Morris and Elizabeth Kline.
John Morris who was the son of George O. Morris is listed in the 1850 census as being 16 years of age which makes him born around 1834.

The 1880 census places Isabelle in the home of John and Young Blood Morris. John Morris in 1880 is listed as age 38; this would place his birth around 1842.

Are we talking about the same John in relation to Arch and Isabelle? I do not believe we are.

Arch T. Morris was born in June of 1881. He was a brother to Isabell Morris Francy. After being divorced from Minnie Eads, he moved to Tulsa County, Oklahoma were he died in April of 1942. Arch T. Morris and Isabell Morris Francy are both buried in Park Grove Cemetery, Broken Arrow, Tulsa County, Oklahoma.

I believe that John and Young Blood Morris died between 1881 and 1900. I cannot find them in US census records after that time. Arch may have been quite young when his parents died. Perhaps he was taken in by a neighbor.

Arch T. in 1900 was listed in the Miller Twp., Maries County home of August and Rachel Gross as a farm laborer. He was 18. In 1917 when Rachel Gross died she was a widow and the person who provided the information for her death certificate was Mrs. Arch Morris of Dixon, Missouri. This seems as if some other relationship may have existed between Arch and the Gross's other than just an employee-employer relationship. Perhaps the Gross's helped raise Arch after the death of his parents.

would love to hear the stories about her. But I have a copy of the divorce and it says she was at her family (fisher). I guess the fisher could be on her mother side. I don't know. somebody contacted me one time and said her mother had been taken by indians and francis america was 1/2 indian. but she never sent me any information.how would i get copies of the stories. would help me find where she was staying. I can beleave she wasnt put in an mental hospital after she tried to kill her whole family

Francis America (Woods) married c. 1868 to Martin L.Stump,
they had two children, Thomas Perry Stump b. 11 Jan 1869 and James Nathan Stump b. 1873. they divorced he married 2nd 13 Apr 1884 in Maries Co., MO to Louisa M. Richardson.

they were not living together by the 1880 census. finding Francis America there might help confirm her parents.
Family genealogist have lots of stories about Francis America.

Need proof that she is the daughter of Samuel W. Woods b. c. 1793 in VA died about 1857 in Osage Co., MO he married 9 Nov 1829 in Washington Co., KY to Sarah Vaughan b. 12 Sep 1810 in KY d. 1887. she married second William Geabhart 30 Mar 1863 in Osage Co., MO, I assume a widower he had two children by an earlier marriage.

I had not seen her sirname given as Fisher. I do have a Mrs. Amanda Fisher no notes or further info, not sure where she came from or when.
