My mother, nee Rebecca Mallory, claimed to have been born in "Indian Territory" in 1894. All her personal documents support that fact. My great aunt wrot me a letter saying that my grandfather, James Mallory, took part in the 1893 land rush and aquired land there. The problem is, my mother also said she was born in Tiff City, Oklahoma.Siblings on either side of my mother were born in Dekalb County, Missouri, so grandfather couldn't have stayed more than 3-4 years in Indian Territory. My question is this. Does anyone know if there ever was a part of Tiff City in Oklahoma? Was Tiff City, MO a popular entry point leading to the 1893 land rush? I looked for a land patent in my grandfather's name at the BLM website, and found nothing. So my only clue is the Tiff City link.
