R. F McConnell, son of Martin and Emily McConnell, was born
September 25, 1870, near Rocky Mount, Mo., and died April 4,
1939 at his home seven miles southwest of Eldon.
He was united in marriage to Mary Ellen Busick January 1, 1898.
Two sons and a daughter were born to this union----Curtis of the
home and Wayne McConnell of Eldon and Freda, who preceded
her father in death May 22, 1927 at the age of 20 years. Mr Mc-
Connell is survived by his wife and two sons and one granddaughter,
Wilma McConnell; one brother, Fred McConnell of Barnett, and four
sisters, Mrs Cora Dunstan of Eldon, Mo, Mrs Brooks Dunstan of
Barnett, Mo., Mrs Lon Savage of Steamboat Springs, Colo., Mrs
Nora Lawbaugh of Pratt, Kansas as well as a host of relatives and
Mr McConnell was converted about the year 1909, during a
revival at Rocky Mount, and lived a devoted Christian Life.
He was a devoted husband and father, a kind neighbor, and will
be sadly missed by all who knew him.
Funeral Services were held at the Dooley Chapel Friday before
noon by the Rev D F Vaughan, after which the remains were laid
to rest in the Dooley Cemetery. Phillips Funeral Home was in charge.
